Marine Artist and Illustrator working in oil, pencil and watercolour.
Member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists since 2000
Subjects include sailing events in the Solent, Antigua, St Tropez and the BVI
and Australia Classic yachts, modern racing boats, local sailing boats and fleets,
naval ships, seascapes and Solent marker buoys.
"I paint a wide range of subjects but have chosen to specialise in oil paintings of classic
and modern racing yachts. I think the old classics are still the most awesome sight on the
water. In a strong wind with the sun on their sails, powering down the Solent, racing past the
Royal Yacht Squadron, they are magnificent. To be out on the water taking photographs as
they speed past is an excellent day in the office."

Volunteer crew member on Cowes Inshore Lifeboat
1995 – 2000 Cowes, Isle of Wight
Cowes Inshore Lifeboat was an independent organisation that existed to save lives in the
Solent and Medina river. As a volunteer crew I was on call day and night to provide emergency
assistance to those in trouble on the water. The boat was on patrol most weekends attending
incidents and constantly updating the crew training. During Cowes Week and other major
events we provided continuous patrols and safety cover under the direct control of H.M. Coastguard.
There were a lot of routine callouts and patrols interspersed with some very serious incidents
and loss of life. It was a fascinating experience that definitely enriched my knowledge and
understanding of the Solent and all that floats (or sinks) on it.
